There are many different types of walls and this page could go on for days and days about them all. But we do not want to bore you with this so lets get to the most popular of them all. There are basically 3 types of walls we install, a Sitting wall, Retaining wall and a pony wall.
A Sitting Wall is just what the name implies, it is a wall that is primarily used for entertaining or to sit on. Typically the wall is only 20" to 30" high and has a very sturdy base and a wide cap. The wall must be attractive and fit into your landscape as well as be functional.
The second type of wall we install are Retaining Walls, This type of wall is used to retain dirt of another material behind it. These are used as sitting walls as well in some cases but have a planter on the other side or something of the same sort. A retaining walls main purpose is to hold back the dirt and create a planter or a raised area with backfill behind it, We use them to create elevated patios with stairs leading to the top and so on.
The third type of wall is a Pony Wall, This is a short 3' to 4' wall used to hide a pool pump or a/c unit from the site of others. This can also be used as a privacy barrier in a front yard to create a cozy private sitting area you can enjoy.
All of the wall types listed above can be made from many different materials such as block's with stucco, Celtik wall or my favorite Country Manor wall material. The cheapest and most common is a stuccoed block wall. This is basically 8x8x16 blocks mortared together and then stucco placed on top and painted to match your house.
A Celtik Wall is a Belgard product with a flat rear surface (Best for retaining walls) and a chiseled face to give it a rough European appearance. The Country manor wall on the other hand has 3 sides that are rough an then tumbled to smooth them down. This is the type of wall best for pony and sitting areas since it looks Great from any angle you view it from. These walls are all a great accent to your house and as well as to your Concrete paver patio since they come in the same color blends as the other Belgard products. We hope we can add one of these products to your home to set you Far apart from your neighbors.
